Chidham returned to winning ways on Sunday with their most emphatic victory of the season against Emsworth.
Chidham were forced to bat first in this 35 over match and Van Niekerk (31 runs) and McClean (50) wasted no time in getting the Hawks off to a flying start. Gottesman (36) and O'Donohue (32) contributed significantly to the scoreboard and by the time the tail enders had done their bit Emsworth were left chasing 199 runs.
Emworth faced an uphill struggle aginst some strong Chidham bolwing and at one stage they were just 43 runs for 7 wickets with only first team batter Watts (55) able to make inroads. The visitors were eventually bowled out for just 70 runs with 10 overs remaining and there were some notebale bowling figures: Dungar 5 runs for 2 wickets with 3 maidens, Phizackerley19 runs for 3 wickets with 1 maiden and Strudwick 15 runs for 2 wickets, all off 5 overs a piece.
