Chidham and Hambrook Cricket Club serves the three villages within the parish of Chidham and Hambrook, situated between the cathedreal city of Chichester and the harbour village of Emsworth in West Sussex. In its present incarnation, the club has been in existence since 2008 when a number of villagers joined forces to herald a return to organised cricket in the parish after an absence of forty years. From these humble beginnings, the club now boasts around 35 full and associate members and a fixture list of around 25 games per season.
The club proudly aspires to provide opportunities to play cricket for all within the parish, believing that winning is important whilst retaining our values of inclusion, sportsmanship and family at the core of what we do. We aim to provide an opportunity to play social and more competitive cricket for all who live within the Parish with a large fixture list of Midweek Twenty20 and longer sunday games. This provides ample opportunity for our members to play regularly at a level which suits them. We also have an active social programme, with annual quizzes and golf society days as well as regular darts evenings, allowing us to socialise off as well as on the pitch.
Whilst there is no space for a ground within the Parish, the 2016 season marked the beginning of an exciting collaboration with our neighbours at Bosham Cricket Club. We now play all of our home fixtures at their recently-developed ground as well as collaborating in the provision of colts coaching for the children local to both villages and a number of other community-orientated events.
Chidham and Hambrook Cricket Club is always looking to broaden its numbers and welcomes participation from those within the parish and beyond. Whether you are someone who is an experienced cricketer, wishes to play for the first time or simply wants to come over and meet us, we would love to hear from you. Feel free to drop us a line using the details on the contact page or come over and watch a game.
